More news from the Team PKR Pros in action last week...

Grosvenor UK Poker Tour - Thanet
Three pros headed to the scene of golfpro699's victory last year, though the choppy waters meant none returned with any loot...

golfpro699
Andy 'golfpro699' Teng

"I was excited be back to defend my title :D. Not much really happened in my tournament, before I busted out flipping just before antes. My next poker trip is to Amsterdam, and then Vilamoura right after that."

"In the Main Event, I never got going. Ironically I had my best period when sat at a tough table, and ended up getting most of my chips in with Q-Q vs A-A after a couple of nasty spots. Then it was 4-4 vs T-T that finished me off. Not a profitable excursion..

My next live event is actually a pool tournament in Scarborough, and as poker goes, GUKPT Blackpool, a Dusk Til Dawn weekender and maybe the GUKPT Grand Final (plus PKR Live III!)."

"GUKPT Thanet was very amusing! I was chip leader for the first four hours, I managed to yoyo so much that Julian 'YoYo' Thew gave me the rights to his nickname. I neither ran bad nor good, stacking off light in a semi-setup situation, and losing some flips as well as winning some 30%ers.

All in all, Thanet could have been a great tournament for me, as I was definately using my aggression to out-pressure on my tables throughout. But in the end I busted when my QQ was outdrawn by Q9 all-in on a 678 flop. I have no definite plans for live tournaments within the next few weeks, as I have had a rather busy past couple of months, but I hope to be tackling the world's best at the Amsterdam Masters at the start of November."

Swedish Open Championships

Henrik 'Pokey85' Eklund

"There were only 52 players at the Swedish Open, because of the big $5,800 buy-in. A lot of the best players were there, including William Thorsson, Ken Lennard and Johan Storakers. It was a deep stacked tourno with 30K chips, I started well and played position and made some good moves. I moved table after five hours, which is never good.

I had to make a big fold early on with A-Ks, then missed every flop with the very few decent starting hands I was dealt after that. At 300/600, I limped in the SB with 6-4s, flop J-6-4. I bet, was called by one guy, turn was a queen. I bet hard, he called again, and river was a five (three hearts now on board). I value bet and he shoved in. I couldn't fold and he showed 6-2hh for the runner runner flush.....soooo sick! I never run good in live tournaments!"

World Poker Tour Marrakech

Kai 'kingkai84' Paulsen

"I went to Marrakech with a Norwegian friend of mine Mikal (LuckyLukeKK), and played the €1,800 ($2,700) side event as well as the €4,500 ($6,227) WPT Main Event. I finished 19th in the Main Event (for $19,426) which was OK, but kinda disapointing too. I had a great time visiting the famous market, got a close encounter with snake charmers and their friends, though personally I didn't approve.

Besides poker I didn't do much except lying by the pool and enjoying the sun. LOL. But do you blame me? It's freezing cold in Norway these days so I have to enjoy the African heat. On the last night I was food poisoned, so the flight to London was not my most pleasent experience. Sitting in seat 2D with Antonio Esfandiari in the seat in front of me and Tony G beside me was a bit cool.

Next up as poker goes, I'll be heading to Amsterdam for some of the events during the Master Classics. My plan was originally to go to the Philippines for the APPT Cebu 11-16 November, but due to the typhoons over there, I might drop that. Until then you can suck out on me on PKR....my good looking vampire is hungry for blood in Oktoberfest!"
