PKR_Jabba Vegas blog (Day 2)

In the words of kingand77, “that was quite possibly the best night of my life!”.

We got up in the afternoon, enjoyed an hour or two by the pool, had dinner and then got to work preparing ourselves for a night of serious fun and debauchery.

The venue was amazing, but then you’d expect that from the planet’s most expensive hotel suite. Rotating beds, one outdoor and one indoor Jacuzzi, a massage room, a couple of free bars upstairs and down, dancing girls on podiums and promo girls milling around looking sexy.

We had a capacity of 250 in the suite but we knew at least 320 were expected to turn up. The party started at 10pm and it didn’t take long for the usual small talk to escalate into a hysterical and euphoric mess of euphoric souls.

Unlike most parties things started to get a little crazy before even the first hour was done. As the PKR players rolled in, they were followed by an impressive contingent of well known faces. I’m sure I won’t have remembered all the names, but here’s a little dig at the names I can remember: JC Tran, Annette Obrestad, Mike Sexton, Neil Channing, Quinn Do, Nam Le, Chino Rheem, Michael Binger, Liv Boeree, Roland de Wolfe, The Devilfish, Jeffrey Lissandro, Jeff Madsen, all the Team PKR Pro players and PKR VIPs of course.

PKR parties are usually characterized by the warm and friendly atmosphere that separates us from the faceless and flat competition; this party was no exception. The room was filled with the deafening sound of laughter and merriment as every corner was brimming with beaming smiles and drunken slurs.

Several pros and journalists commented that they had never seen a poker site party with so many players who knew each other and it was totally devoid of that awkwardness that is so often found when a business has a bash for their customers. It just goes to show how much of a family we have all become.

The champagne was flowing and the bunnies and dancers were shaking their tooshes. All in all things were going from strength to strength with every hour that passed.

Three in the morning came far too quickly, but in a flash the Palms security guards had emptied the place except for staff, the sponsored team and one or two players staying at the PKR pro's Vegas mansion.

The next few hours were spent desperately trying to finish all the champagne and make the most the famous Jacuzzi looking out over the strip. We watched the sun come up whilst frolicking in the water and flipping six card Omaha face up. Finally, we stumbled/crawled to our beds dreading the inevitable pain that would follow when we woke. What goes up must come down I suppose.

/So worth it... so funny.. so brilliant!
