Legendary PKR high stakes cash gamer Vladimir ‘beyne’ Geshkenbein has today won the High Rollers event at the Asia Pacific Poker Tour event in Macau. Beyne beat poker legend and double WSOP main event winner Johnny ‘The Orient Express’ Chan heads up to secure the title and $266,000 first prize.
The final hand came at around 16:10 GMT when the all the chips went in a board of 8d5c6s. Chan showed top pair with Q8 only to find himself dominated by beyne’s K8. The board bought no help to the ten time bracelet winner with Beyne catching a king to make two pair and take down the title.
The APPT High Roller event boasted a hefty $11k buy-in and had a high quality field of 64 runners including Chan, WPT Champion Yevgeny Timoshenko, APT Macau runner up Ingwook Choi, Lee Nelson and JJ Lieu.
Beyne’s victory completes a stunning couple of weeks in Macau for PKR’s finest, coming hot on the heels of Adrien ‘zlatan35’ Allain’s victory in the APT Macau main event.
