It’s official - Adrien ‘zlatan35’ Allain is the newest member of Team PKR Pro.
The 24 year old from Rennes in France has had a phenomenal run of form since joining PKR back in April, 2008 including firsts in the Sunday $30K, the Saturday Big Shot and the Sunday $17K plus a sixth place at the PKR Live II Main Event - his first live tournament experience.
But it was a first place in the Asian Poker Tour Weekly Final on PKR that propelled Adrien to new heights. Starting his qualifying journey in a humble $5 satellite, he parlayed the package he won on PKR to a phenomenal victory in the APT Macau Main Event that saw him win $391,556 and capture the attention of the poker world.
A player on a fast upward curve, Adrien told us in an interview a few weeks ago that he only started playing a year and half ago after a friend taught him how to play!
Today he told us, "I am very proud to be part Team PKR Pro. Joining this team composed of the best PKR players is a great pleasure. Now I hope we come together to accomplish great results! On a personal note, I know my career will be boosted by this move and I hope it's the begining of a great adventure. I'll make sure to give myself the maximum opportunity to achieve great things with PKR and the Team!"
JC Tran - who sat at the final table at the APT Macau with Adrien, said, “...congratulations to Adrien, he played good poker and is a deserving champion. To take down such a major tournament for just $5 is quite something – there’s no doubt he has great potential.”
Since then zlatan35 has continued to play on PKR and is a major force in the site's growing French community. "Actually there are many French players, and many are registered on our forum." says zlatan35. "We help each other to improve ourselves continuously. We analyse each others' hands in order to progress quickly. They always supported me during my final tables and always comforted me in my times of doubt, I owe them a lot and I am very proud of this fellowship."
