June 09 – 'Opposites'
First broadcast on 01 June 2009. The advert's narrative focuses on the player; exploring different preconceptions about opponents met across the table at PKR.com.
The advert features a variety of chip splashes and placements from the 1.9 build - released at the time, while the visuals continued to blur the boundaries between the game and reality further.
December 08 – 'Why do we play poker?'
The December (first broadcast 20 December 2008) advert returns to the narrative style of the earlier advert, released in July, but this time poses the question, 'Why do we play poker?'
The advert also previews two of the three new poker rooms released soon after: the Egyptian casino and the Chinatown environment, as well as introducing the new golden high denomination chip.
The advert pipeline started to evolve onwards from this with more sophisticated shots and effects becoming possible while still using the raw in-game footage.
October 08 – 'PKR Rocks'
Following the July advert, the October one (first broadcast 13 October 2008) cast the net wider, spotlighting the rich depth of PKR’s varied rooms and the breadth of the avatars' ability to express themselves.
Here it all starts with a sneak preview of the new Egyptian casino environment, which was set for release early 2009, as well as the raining money finale for tournament winners (money was substituted for confetti in the adverts broadcast on TV).
July 08 – 'Here I come'
This advert (first broadcast 15 June 2008) follows the internal thought processes behind a tournament 'make or break' decision! The monologue references past tournament highs and lows and sets up the next crucial decision.
The advert featured the High Roller table for its complete focus on the mechanics of game itself rather than the PKR environments.
